Rod Bettencourt’s TBD Devastator

We’d like to start featuring models built using on our Hawaiian Air Depot products, and where better to start than Rod Bettencourt’s 1/32 Trumpeter TBD Devastator, using our Comprehensive Mask set and VT-3 Addendum:

In fact, Rod is the reason we began our line of addendum sheets. When we released our John Ford Midway set, Rod got in touch to suggest the other TBD squadrons that sacrificed themselves at Midway get lost in the shadow of Torpedo 8. Maybe because they didn’t have a famous Hollywood director chronicling their service, VT-3 and VT-6 don’t get the appreciation they earned every bit as VT-8. Rod couldn’t be more right. Looking over our work, we realized we could add VT-3 and VT-6 pretty easily to our initial project. Our addendum line was born.

Rod’s Devastator is a beautiful model and a beautiful memorial to all the TBD crews that gave their all for our all. We can’t appreciate them enough.  See more of Rod’s model on Large Scale Planes. And when you complete a project using HAD products you’d like to share, please send us pics or a link.
