1/32 Rector's P-40E Flying Tiger 104 Addendum for Hasegawa
With this download you can mask and paint the fuselage code, squadron stripe and shark’s teeth for the AVG/23rd FG number 104, flown by Ed Rector and Bruce Holloway. The design also includes masks for the stars on the wheel hubs.
Research suggests the P-40Es received by the AVG were painted in standard USAAC colors and markings of the time: Olive Drab over Neutral Gray with US insignia in 4 positions and U.S. ARMY on the underside of the wings. But in later photos 104 appears camouflaged, suggesting it was painted in the field. There is also speculation the US insignia and underwing markings were painted over, with Chinese insignia added to the four wing positions. When the AVG was absorbed into the 23rd FG the US insignia was evidently restored.
Lots of options! Use this addendum with our Essential and Camouflage mask sets and you’ll have them all covered. With them you can paint 104 at any point during its service with the AVG or the 76 FS, 23rd FG.
Use kit or aftermarket decals for the Flying Tigers logo (super accurate; it was a decal in real life), personal markings, and stencils.
