1/32 Don Gentile Spitfire Vb Comprehensive Masks for Kotare
Here’s everything you need to paint the 1/32 Kotare Vb as one of Don Gentile’s Spitfires. This download features mask designs for MD*T as the earlier RAF 133 Eagle Squadron Spitfire Gentile flew during the Dieppe raid, or the later MD*T after it was transferred to the 336th Squadron of the 4th Fighter Group.
The picture record suggests there were two different MD*Ts: El533, in British markings as flown at Dieppe, was soon after traded in for brand new IXcs. After these were lost in the Morlaix disaster, refurbished Vbs replaced them. A week or so later 133 Squadron transferred them to the USAAF.
The refurbished Vbs were repainted in non-standard camouflage schemes, US insignia, and without visible serials. They were equipped with Rotol propellers. Apparently one of these became “Donnie Boy” in the famous picture.
Our download provides mask designs for everything you need to finish the Kotare kit as either of Gentile’s Spitfires. Included are masks for the canopy, (inside and out), clear parts, wheels, prop tips, radiator and oil cooler screens, insignia, fin flashes, fuselage ID bands, leading edge ID stripes, wing walks, serials and squadron codes. Use aftermarket decals for personal markings, victory flags, and stencils.
Oh, and we had some extra room so we’ve added masks for HL C from the kit decals, in case you’d like to paint those.
Download includes six 180× 240mm (approximately 7 × 9.5 inches) svg files for Cricut, dxf copies for Silhouette, and a PDF Placement Guide.
