Kidd Hofer was the perfect Mustang pilot: aggressive, fearless, eccentric, and flamboyant; He flew combat missions in his college football jersey, after all. We think he deserves his own Comprehensive Mask set.
This download includes mask designs for Hofer’s P-51B, Salem Representative. It includes insignia, squadron codes, serial number, nose band, ID stripes, and optional invasion stripes. Use kit or aftermarket decals for the nose art, victory markings, and stencils.
The download also includes everything you need from our Essential Mask set: designs for the antiglare panel, wheels (including Hofer’s white walls), tail wheel doors, and flap step. It also includes two designs you won’t find anywhere else: one to mask the sealant around the windscreen side panels, and a set to mask the stringers in the main landing gear bay so you can paint them Yellow Zinc Chromate and leave the rest natural metal.
And if maximum accuracy is your goal, you also get a set of mask designs to help putty the panel lines on the wings just like they did at the factory. Look, if you’re going to paint those stringers in the wheel wells you might as well go all out!
