1/48 P-38J Lightning Essential Masks for Tamiya
Here’s a handy little download that provides custom mask designs for three different insignia options seen during P-38J production: stars with red-bordered bars, and two sizes of stars with blue bordered bars.
We’ve included canopy masks so you can cut them on your machine, rather than hand-cutting the ones provided by Tamiya. We’ve also included a mask for the inside of the armored windscreen with a cutout for the gunsight mount. Place the mask to position the sight properly and mask the surround clear arear from excess glue. when the glue dries peel away. Your friends will marvel at how easy you make it look.
There’s a mask for the outside so you can paint or scribe the three attachment bolts. Also included are masks for the antiglare panels, prop tips, fuel caps, wheels, and the polished ovals on the nacelles so the pilot could check the landing gear visually. Download includes two 9.29 × 7.5 in SVG files, DXF copies for Silhouette, and a PDF placement guide.
