Here at Hawaiian Air Depot, 2025 will be the year of P-40s. We’ve neglected them far too long.
Up first is a comprehensive mask set for the outstanding— and inexplicably rare— Hasegawa P-40N Warhawk (also released by Eduard). The download includes mask designs for 4 styles of national insignia: plain stars, borderless stars and bars, red-bordered stars and bars, and blue-bordered ones. Masks for wheels, lights, fuel filler caps, wing walks, and prop blades are also included. The prop blade masks allow you to paint the tips and also feature cutouts to help align logo and stencil decals.
And, of course, canopy masks: we’ve included inside masks for the windscreen and hood, complete exterior masks, gunsight glass, and various ID lights. We give you two styles of outside canopy masks that allow you to paint the top brace on the hood and rear panels. Hasegawa missed those on their otherwise great kit.
As a bonus we’ve also included a few options to paint 49FG spinner stripes and masks for the undersides of the horizontal tailplanes. Conveniently mask that Neutral Gray while you paint your Olive Drab. Download includes four 7 X 9.5 inch (177.8 x 241.3 mm) .svg files, four .dxf copies for Silhouette, and a PDF Placement Guide. Use your decals for the stencils, serial numbers, squadron codes, nose art, and victory markings.

We’re planning 1/32 Skull masks for the 80FG, 1/32 RAF Essential sets for Kittyhawk Its and IIIs, an Essential set for P-40E/Ks,1/32 RAF camouflage masks, Overspray Masks, Riveting Templates, and an addendum for our personal favorite: Joel B. Paris’ Rusty from the 7th FS, 49FG. We’ll try to sneak in a few P-40B?Hawk 81A-2 sets for the GWH kit as well.
And we’re doing it all just to get ready to scale them down and tweak them up for the 1/48 Eduard kits. Stay tuned!
