This download is an addendum to our F4U Essential set, providing additional mask designs for VF-17 aces Blackburn, Kepford, Hedrick, Cunningham, and Streig. We’ve also included a mask for the unique position of the underwing stars as seen in period photos, and full upper wing markings including the wing walk panels and stripes.
Squadron numbers are included for Blackburn’s 1, Streig’s 3, Hedrick’s 17, Cunningham’s 22, and both of Kepford’s 29s. We’ve also designed a mask to paint “BIG HOG” on the tail of Blackburn’s plane, and the unique skull and crossbones that appears in at least one picture for Hedrick’s 17.

Our Essential Mask set provides designs for the clear parts, wheels, prop tips, standard insignia, and masks for the windscreen sealant. Use kit or aftermarket decals for VF-17s Jolly Roger, pilot’s victory markings and stenciling.
