1/32 Spitfire Mk. VIII/IX camouflage masks for the Tamiya kits

This download includes two 8x12 inch (203.2 x 304.8mm) design files with masks to paint the upper camouflage scheme for Spitfire Mks VIII and IX. They can be used for the Day Fighter Scheme, Desert Scheme, and even the SEAC Scheme: just substitute Dark Earth for the Day Fighter Scheme Ocean Gray.
Designed to fit the Tamiya kits, these masks are optimized to be cut from Oramask 810 for sharp demarcation lines, or ordinary legal paper for soft edges. You could even cut these designs from 2mm craft foam to replicate the mats used to paint the camo at the factories. We think the use of these masks by individual painters accounts for the variations of sharp and soft lines seen on Mk. IXs: each painters’ position and spray habits resulted in sharper or softer lines. Right!?! But what do we know? You do you! That’s the advantage of Make Your Own.
